Looking for a Peaceful Life?
Last evening former President George W. Bush spoke at the University of Mobile's Leadership banquet to help raise money for our scholarship fund. While President Bush's speech was filled with humor and insights about life in the Oval Office, he also spoke about the seriousness of the many decisions he had to make with each day. Obviously, every sitting President has a colossal number of decisions to make each day which can have insurmountable consequences on multitudes on people. Whether you like or dislike President Obama, he needs and deserves our prayers. The Holy Bible states, "Pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior" (1 Timothy 2:1-3 NIV).
So do you want to please God your Savior today? Do you want to help America live a more peaceful and quiet life marked by godliness and dignity? Then pray for our "authorities." It might just change the nation! |

Today's Prayer
"Father, we pray for President Obama. Please give him wisdom, courage, fortitude, and the ability to carry forth his job. Lord, please reveal your way to him and those serving with him. Help them to act and make decisions based upon your Word and what is best for our nation and this world which You created. Help him to find strength in you and Lord may he be drawn toward you like never before. Father, help his family. Protect them. Be with his wife and his girls. Lord, we want our nation to be blessed by you; therefore, we pray that you bless our President and all those in authority across this land. We pray with thanksgiving in the name of Jesus' Christ. Amen."
