A Queen's Fear
It is not difficult to convince most Americans that our nation is facing complex problems and is drifting from its former greatness. We hear calls for revival but not all of these calls are Christ honoring. I am convinced that in order for our nation to have a genuine spiritual awakening, there must first be a revival of prayer. When Christians are right with our Savior then our praying will be powerful. Today's darkness seems so pervasive because the light of the world is so well hidden. Mary Queen of Scotts said, "I fear the prayers of John Knox more than I fear all the armies on the face of the earth." When was the last time a leader of a nation feared a praying church? |

Today's Prayer "Our Father, in heaven, holy is your name. We ask that you would have mercy upon your people and visit us in a revival of our love for you. Forgive us for leaving our first love and help us repent and return to you. Help us to cast down all our idols and you alone Lord Jesus. Our land suffers because of the sinfulness of your church. We are your people, called by your name and only genuine humility at this hour is appropriate before you, O Lord, who knows our hearts perfectly. Help us to turn from our wicked ways and find grace and forgiveness, power and victory over our sinful ways. Help us to seek your face because we trust that you will guide us with your eye upon us. We ask for a revival of your church and spiritual awakening in our culture. This is not our first time to have drifted far from you and you were gracious to move your hand and heal our land. Please do it again Lord. Do it in our lifetime. Start in my heart. Do not stop with me. Lord, here I stand, I can do nothing greater or less than to plead for healing for this land."
