Greetings!

Whew!  We've made it! We finally got moved into our new space!  It isn't completely done yet, but it is complete enough to function.  Over the next couple of months we will be putting the final touches on the space, but already it is incredible!  Thank you everyone for working so hard to get us moved.  I appreciate your great attitudes.

Moving into a building not yet completed has been similar to living life; things are never just perfect.  In fact, if you wait until things are perfect to start a new chapter in your life, you will never start.  The important thing is to begin and then persevere.   It is exciting to begin a new chapter in the long R.C. Stevens history with all of you.  It's not perfect, but we have started anyway and we will persevere. Happy New Year !         Thanks, Tim

Spotlight on Joe!

Walter "Joe" Potts was born in 1952 at Orange Memorial Hospital (nowJoe Potts ORMC and one of our valued clients). He was named after his father, Walter.

Joe grew up in Central Florida and attended Lyman High School and UCF (then called Florida Technological University).  Joe jokes that UCF stands for "U Can't Finish" because during the transition from FTU to UCF, the requirements to graduate were a moving target.

Joe met his wife Joyce  at UCF and they married in 1977.  He has two sons; Joseph Ryan - who is married and lives in Jacksonville and Jason Tyler - who is 28 and working on his college degree.

Joe's first paid construction gig was when he was 16.  He worked during a summer and after school for Jim Daley Plumbing.  Joe later went on to get his Master Plumber's license while still in college.  After college, he worked toward his GC license.

Joe loves both fresh and salt water and although he doesn't surf anymore, he still enjoys boating and fishing.  One moonless night fishing with his son, Tyler, they caught a 140 pound tarpon.  The exercise of bringing a very large fish into a 14-foot boat (not knowing if you have a shark on the line) will get your heart pounding!

Joe also enjoys playing pool and belongs to the American Pool Association.  He has also recently taken motorcycle riding up after a long hiatus.

Make sure you take time to get to know Joe and say 'hi' when you see him around and about!

As of this date, the project is 50% finished with an expected completion date of May 5, 2012. The building has an insulated panel exterior wall system supported by a structural steel skeleton.

Christmas at RCS

A Great Time Was Had By All!

Christmas at RCS was a bit different this year.  The party was held at the Garden Building in Winter Garden on December 3rd.  There was a lot of great food and drink and this year, instead of the gift exchange that we have done in year's past, we collected unwrapped, new toys that were donated to Winter Garden's Police Department. We collected over 40 toys!  The police department distributed those toys to lots of happy children.  As a special treat, the Major Mileage Band was there to entertain us.  We partied so hard that we were asked to "keep it down" (bet you haven't heard that since you were a teenager). It was great to hang out with everyone and just relax. To view more photos of the party, click here.
