Greetings!

December - Wow!  Where has the year gone?!  I don't know about your family, but it seems like this time of year just picks up the pace for my family.  In addition to the million and one things Mary and I have to do in our ordinary day, we now add all of the social, community and family demands on top of already packed days.  It can be very easy to get swept up in all the activity and lose site of the most important reason for the season.  We do that at work, too.  Sometimes challenges come at us so fast, we forget what we are trying to accomplish.  You know the old saying, "When you are up to your ass in alligators, its hard to remember that your objective was to drain the swamp".  So please let me invite you to take a moment this Christmas to take a deep breath and reconnect with the most important people and objectives in your life.  Merry Christmas everyone!         Thanks, Tim

Spotlight on Allison!

Say 'hello' to Allison Rudner.  Allison is one of our hard working Project Manager Assistants. She and Cheri keep the paperwork straight for all of our Project Managers, and you had better believe it is a big job!

Allison was born in Port Jefferson, New York and lived in Patchogue (pronounced patch-aug), New York for the first five years of her life.  She moved to Casselberry when she was five years old (she brought her parents with her). She now lives in the Oviedo area with her sweetie of four years, Nick Spence.

Allison has one older sister and one younger brother, and spending time with her three nephews is very important to her.

Allison graduated from Seminole State College in 2009 with an Associate in Arts Degree and is currently attending the University of Central Florida.

Her newest hobby is photography and she also enjoys yoga.  In fact, something most people don't know about Allison is that she would someday like to become a certified yoga instructor, not to teach others, but to improve her practice.

Allison's pet peave is

"horrible drivers - people who are oblivious to their surroundings!"  So, pay attention everyone, and make sure you let Allison know how much you appreciate her hard work!

From the Field!

We are almost there!  Sometime in mid-December we will be moving to nov 29 2011 rcs officeour new office in Winter Garden.  The entire project will not yet be completed but our space will, and the City of Winter Garden is so pleased that we will be moving to their neck of the woods that they will issue us a temporary certificate of occupancy. Our new address will be 28 South Main Street, Winter Garden, Florida 34787.

Our new workspace will be very state-of-the-art and there won't be room for 85 years worth of files,  so remember to scan and discard!

Christmas at RCS

 Things you need to know!

Christmas at RCS will be a bit different this year.  First off, our party will be held at the Garden Building in Winter Garden (146 West Plant St,. Winter Garden, FL 34787) on Saturday, December 3rd from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.  Drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. Instead of the gift exchange that we have done in year's past, this year we are asking everyone to bring an unwrapped, new toy that we can donate to Winter Garden's Police Department.  They will then distribute those toys to children who would not otherwise have a Christmas.  The dress is festive but casual (you know your spouse is going to ask you).  As a special treat, we will have the Major Mileage Band there to entertain and lots of room for dancing.  This is such a wonderful opportunity for all of us to connect and get to know each other; please make plans to attend!

Also, make sure you mark your calendar. Because Christmas is on a Sunday this year, the office will be closed on December 26th (the Monday following). Likewise, since New Year's Day is also on a Sunday, the office will be closed on the Monday following, January 2nd.

RCS in the Community!

One of the really cool things about R.C. Stevens is how involved we are in the community. There are few companies of any size that are as involved in their community. In case you are new or didn't know this, the RCS mission statement even references our committment to being involved in our community.

We build our business through partnership by exceeding expectation with performance, training, and education, while actively supporting our community.

Some of the ways in which you can be involved are listed below. Just remember, what Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful people can  change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

Team RCS is involved in the fight against cancer in two counties.  Dave Smith is the Chair of the Brevard County Unit and Allison is our Team Captain for the Winter Garden Relay for Life which will be held in April.  Whether you choose to help out in Brevard or in Orange, please help.  If you are interested in signing up to help in Winter Garden, please let Allison know.  You can either click here or contact Allison at arudner@rcstevens.com

This event is a lot of fun and a great way to get to know our new neighbors in Winter Garden, below is a photo of Mary Keating and the Crabtree family from last year's event.
