Welcome to our monthly newsletter series on optimizing your Wiffle Ball/Backyard Ball experience. We provide monthly tips and information on the sport of Wiffle Ball, everything from pitching, hitting, building fields, tournaments, events, and more.
Spring Training is here! This month we are taking a look at Wiffle Ball Bats. Everything from the history of the Wiffle ball bat to modern day bats for fast pitch leagues. Plus a special option for customizing your own bat.

Wiffle Ball Bats
Did you know...
The rules enclosed with the earliest WiffleŽ Balls suggested using a broom handle as a bat, but by 1954, just a year after the ball's debut, the WiffleŽ Ball Inc. had contracted with a wooden handle manufacturer to produce the very first WiffleŽ bat, called the WiffleŽ King. It was 31 inches long and had a barrel that was only 1 1/8 inch in diameter, not much thicker than the broomstick that inspired it. The classic yellow plastic bat did not show up for several years later. The plastic WiffleŽ bat was first made in 1959 and has undergone very minor changes since that time. It has been a backyard staple ever since.
