God's Love Commercial
Burdened with man's inhumanity to man, Interstate Batteries Chairman Norm Miller created a commercial to promote God's love. The commercial, which airs on Dish Network, shows the positive change in the lives of several people when touched by God's love.
"It just came in my heart and my mind that we need more of God's love right now... the main purpose of the commercial is to inform people and remind people that God's love is available for us and he wants to help us live a life where we love one another."
- Norm Miller, Chairman Inetrstate Batteries

God Takes Care of Us

The first week of December our son David and I were in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a farm equipment seminar. We found out that we had more snow in Texas at that time then they had in South Dakota.

As we work with people in the Ag sector with our auctions, we find people with a lot of faith. Faith that God will send timely rains. Faith that He will bless a crop that is subject to insects and disease.

We should not worry about things we can't do anything about; like the weather. We had a wet fall here and farmers didn't get their cotton out until the end of December.

But we can plan ahead. If it is time to plant a crop, we need to have our planters and grain drills ready to go. We don't need to be working on them when we should be in the field planting.

We need to place our trust in God and ask him for guidance. If we will spend more time praying than worrying, we can be assured that God will take care of us.

May God bless you & keep you,
Alvin Kaddatz

No-Till, Conventional Till Small Grain Forage Yields Equal
Some have questioned if tillage systems influence small grain forage production and if banding phosphorus (P) fertilizer near the seed provides any additional advantage in early forage production. During the 2003 to 2006 growing seasons, the Noble Foundation conducted research at the Pasture Demonstration Farm northwest of Ardmore, Okla., to determine the effects of no-till and conventional management on small grain forage yields. Texas 3-Kick Rule
Duck HuntA big-city California lawyer went duck hunting in rural Texas. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence. As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing.
The attorney responded, "I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now I'm going in to retrieve it."
The old farmer replied, "This is my property, and you are not coming over here. "
The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the U. S. ; and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you own. "
The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we do things in Texas. We settle small disagreements like this with the Texas Three-Kick Rule."
The lawyer asked, "What is this three-kick Rule? "
The farmer replied, "Well, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times, and so on, back and forth, until someone gives up. "
The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.
The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the city feller. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy work boot into the lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees. His second kick nearly wiped the man's nose off his face. The barrister was flat on his belly when the farmer's third kick to a kidney nearly caused him to give up.
The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet and said, "Okay, you old coot, now it's my turn. "
The old farmer smiled and said, "Naw, I give up. You can have the duck."
