Welcome Back to the Hillsborough Schools Foundation!
Dear Friends of HSF/Concours Events:
It's been years in the making, but it has finally arrived! You are receiving this email newsletter because you were a volunteer of HSF/Concours Events within the past five years. At HSF, we always want our volunteers to stay "in the know." Our new quarterly newsletter will communicate with you via email about various items including:
HSF sponsored events (Tennis, Dinner Dance, Family Fun Day) Annual Giving Program HSF New Ventures Important information about our Schools/Community Our new database is a work in progress. If we inadvertently forgot anyone, please let us know at [email protected] and we are happy to add them to our database. Along with our website, this newsletter is intended to keep you informed about all that is HSF!
We encourage you, if you haven't done so already, to please join our new community building network, Hillsborough Together at www.hillsboroughtogether.com This little project has grown from a mere 200 Hillsborough community members to over 1000 strong (and growing each and every day). We'd love to have you be a part of that community.
We've also established some wonderful new ventures to help our public schools. We now have HSF Shopping at www.hsfshopping.com. Just click on this new site and then click on any of the links that we've provided and shop away. HSF receives a percentage of funds through each and every purchase you make (that includes Amazon, which does offer Free Shipping on many items).
We've also created an online thrift shop called HSF Garage www.hsfgarage.com. If you have some things you'd like to donate (donation specifics on our website), please consider donating your items to HSF Garage. We'll sell them online and all proceeds go directly to HSF. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we've raised close to $20,000 this year on HSF Garage alone!
Finally, as we approach Spring, we are still busy with our Annual Giving program. We have so many community members who continue to support HSF. If you haven't made a pledge yet, there is still time. Just log on to www.hsf.org and make your pledge today! As you know, our community support truly inspires us, especially during these difficult economic times. THANK YOU!

Concours d'Elegance 2010 Sunday, September 12, 2010 18th Hole of Crystal Springs Golf Course
The Concours d'Elegance will continue the tradition of this long-established event in Hillsborough. In June 2009, the Hillsborough Schools Foundation Board of Directors made the difficult decision that it was no longer prudent, from a fiduciary perspective, for Concours to be a school fundraiser. This is in no way a reflection on the talented and committed individuals who have worked so passionately over the years but rather changing demographics that we can no longer ignore.
A new leadership organization was formed lead by Rob Fisher and Ted Dobos to take over this event. The next Concours d'Elegance is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2010, on the 18th hole of the Crystal Springs Golf Course. The show will continue to be sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of American (SCCA), and well-known automobile author and historian John Joss will return as emcee.
Even though the date and location have changed, the essence of the Concours d'Elegance remains the same. You can find more information about the event on Facebook or on their website at www.hillsboroughconcours.org. This year's marque car will be Alfa Romero. If you're interested in volunteering for this fabulous event, please email [email protected].
