The Kitchener-Waterloo Branch has served this community for nearly 70 years. We provide Training in First Aid/AED/CPR/Babysitting. We are The
standard for training in the Province by which the WSIB measures all other Training Agencies. We have a variety of volunteer programmes:
1. Medical First Responder: Highly trained volunteers attend a variety of sporting and community events as well as Municipal, Regional, Provincial and National emergencies.
2. Youth: This programme has a goal of making better citizens of our youth.
3. Therapy Dog: Our volunteers with their tested dogs visit the elderly and sick in Retirement Homes as well as help children in Grade 2 read.
4. Home Caregivers' Support: This is a completely new programme which is being piloted at the K-W Branch.
Communication is VITAL for our MFR volunteers whether it is at the Kitchener Auditorium or during our major fundraiser the Waterloo Marathon. Lives can be saved if we can get to a patient IN TIME. Without clear and instant communication, our response time is delayed and our treatment could be too late which may result in death or severe trauma.
I would like to thank Motorola and all at M.R.C. Systems Inc. for their ongoing support.
