Faceshots mandatory but...
Safety number one
priority at SJSC

We have been skiing trees, low angle bowls and glades since the avy danger has been high most of the season.

Safety is our number one priority and we are fortunate that we have thousands of acres of challenging tree skiing when avy conditions are high. Most of the groups' this year have been advanced skiers. So far, we have had no complaints on terrain skied or snow quality.

You be the judge!

After 15 years
Rule reign over SJSC to end

Like an unforgettable  run or a stellar ski day, this season will be the one that we will remember 'till senility sets in.

We opened in December with incredible skiing, but were forced to close after howling winds blew all our snow to Wolf Creek and beyond. Since we reopened in mid-January, we have been hit with weekly storms and have had some of the best snow conditions in years.  We were pounded Monday-Tuesday with a storm that dumped over two feet!

Not only have we been  blessed with ample snow this season but with  great guests; all of whom we have had a blast skiing/riding with this year.

This season is a good winter for Bob and I to end on and this is our last year with the SJSC. We are ready to explore other mountain ranges and business endeavors.

As of now, the future of the SJSC is uncertain. We hope  to sell the company and  business will continue as usual.  We will keep you updated.

The most difficult part  of leaving is saying goodbye to all of you.

Thank you for your friendship and support throughout the past 15 years.  We will miss skiing with you!

Sincerely,

Bob and Carrie Rule

 24 inches and counting;

Another storm on the way

Ski pow now and save with discounted mid-week 'cats

Take advantage of some of the best backcountry snow conditions in Colorado  and book a mid-week private snowcat for $2,000.

Since October, storms have been tracking south and the Southern San Juans have been hit with fresh powder on almost a weekly basis. Monday's storm dumped over 24 inches! More snow is on its way.

Historically, March is the snowiest month in the San Juans, so the next few weeks could be epic.

Since we have thousands of acres of high elevation north-facing trees and bowls, warmer March temperatures and longer days with daylight will not affect snow quality.

And in late March and April, when south-facing aspects start to corn up, we start  skiing the steep gullies and faces off Graysill and Grayrock. Oftentimes, guests are skiing corn and powder in the same day.

Private snowcats are discounted Monday-Thursday the remainder of the season.  Taxes and fees are not included. Private cats hold 10.
