Feast or Famine
Snowcat skiers and snowboarders got a taste of champagne power and feasted on face shots after late December/early January storms dumped over seven feet of snow in our terrain. While December brought a bounty of snow, January served only a few meager inches. Until yesterday, when we received close to a foot of snow. The lean snowfall totals (before the most recent storm), forced many resort skiers to subside on a low-snow diet; but our guests fed their powder appetite with untracked turns.
Almost daily, we get inquiries about snow conditions. People are concerned that they won't have good skiing and won't ski powder.
If we feel conditions aren't favorable (or our area is tracked up), the San Juan Ski Company will cancel and refund your trip in full.
It is our policy and promise to provide guests with an awesome backcountry experience. Skiing has been, and still is, great!
Snow is predicted through Wednesday, and the long-range forecast calls for a snowy February. We hope to ski with you this year.

Robert Leupold (pictured far left) and his brother Dave (not pictured) won a free catskiing trip in our drawing last year. The two brothers cashed in their free day and skied a total of four days with us earlier this month.
