Pause Together To Say Thanks And To Pray For Each Other
|
Dear Central Catholic Family,
I want to take this special opportunity to wish everyone blessings for a very Happy Thanksgiving holiday this year. Thanksgiving is that special time when we unite as Americans in a unique form of prayer and celebration, thanking God for all the blessings that have been bestowed on us during the year. There are, of course, so many reasons for us to be thankful for the blessings bestowed on us as individuals, those blessings on our families and friends, and those blessings bestowed on the members of the Central Catholic family. Perhaps, in the course of our everyday life, we do not take the time to thank God enough for those blessings on a regular basis. Having this special Day of Thanksgiving, as a time set aside for us to reflect and to be thankful, is truly a blessing initiated by our nation's forefathers and it makes us special among the nations of the world. At a time when the very belief in God is being assailed on many sides, we, as a nation, do recognize that the source of our blessings and of our welfare is the God that we believe in. Therefore, it is important for us to mark this day in a way that brings attention to our belief that our Father in Heaven is indeed the source of the blessings in our lives. For that reason, let us pause together to say thanks and to pray for each other and for all the good things that have been bestowed upon us during this past year, and for us, as a Catholic and Marianist family, to also thank our Lord's Mother, Mary, who often is the instrument through which God's blessings flow. Please enjoy the day and the weekend, and take time to not only Thank our God and His Mother, but each other as well, for we are Blessings to each other. Fraternally In Jesus and Mary,
Br. A. Peter Pontolillo, S.M. President |
