DIAPER DRIVE 2011 GREAT SUCCESS!
| |
This year's Diaper Drive, which kicked off Ash Wednesday, brought in a grand total of 26,785 diapers.
All the diapers will be donated to Seton Home, which is a residential facility that provides housing and
supportive services for homeless, abused, pregnant and/or parenting teens and their children.
All four classes - freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors - collected brand new diapers for this great cause.
"I'd like to thank everyone" said Gina Rea, Religion Chair, "especially the sophomore class which collected the most diapers. Thank you also to the families, friends, administration, faculty and staff for all their generous donations."

A WORD OF THANKS FROM VALERIE JOHNSON, LATIN TEACHER
|
 | |
L-R are freshmen Mathew Wetesnik (hidden in back row), T.J. Flanagan, Erik Prior, Adam Worden, Thomas Holmes and Joey Castro. Not pictured are
Matthew Gaston and Joe Rettinger.
|
I would like to say thank you to the boys in my 4th period freshmen class who wanted to do a Latin food day.
They asked, and I agreed, saying, "Sure. You guys plan it."
The class set a date, picked the recipes, reserved the Conference Room and were so mature and responsible about the whole thing. They even cleaned up afterward. I was very impressed.
I was also glad to see that they were so curious about the foods - how they were prepared and how they tasted. Everyone tried everything. We had aniseed chicken, a few egg dishes, custard, roman toast, pears poached in nutmeg and wine, and even Roman "sliders."
I am so proud of your sons, and privileged to be their teacher!
