17u Gamers,

We need to start planning and scheduling recruiting videos for 2013 players.

We will start shooting videos this Sunday, following mini-camp.  Other shooting dates will be Monday June 4th and Monday June 11th.

Once the videos are shot, then will be edited and posted on the Gamers website.  The video URL address can be included in emails to college coaches.  All they do is click on the URL link to watch your video and/or view your profile.

The videos will be approx. 3-5 minutes per player, based on the number of positions.

This Sunday (May 20th), we need 10 players that have finished high school baseball.  We will start at 1pm at SLU and finish no later that 5pm.

So, I need 10 players from the following list of 17u Players that are finished with HS Baseball:

Baur, Mannion, McGuire, Schrimpf, Udina, Aliano, Allman, Biscan, Burnham, Grupas, Hopkins, Kostello, McCoy, McKee, Schmeid, Schnicker and Sherrillo.

The first 10 players that respond to this email will get the spots.

All remaining player videos will be shot on Monday June 4th and Monday June 11th (location TBD).

This year, the videos will be shot and edited by a company called Big League Productions (http://www.bigleagueprod.com/)

The cost of the videos is $190.  This includes shooting the videos, field rentals, editing time, coach time to throw BP/hit fungos and the cost of posting the video on the website.  Please bring a $190 check made out to the St. Louis Gamers before you shoot your video.  We will collect the money and provide a single check to Big League Productions.

Please wear a blue game uniform (blue jersey/white pants) for the video.  Please do not wear the white jersey because it creates a lighting challenge for the video.

The videos will include a combination of reps:

- At the plate
- Groundballs @ SS position or 1B (footwork and throws)
- Outfields (footwork and throws)
- Catching - receiving, blocking, throwing
- Pitching
- Running a 60 yard sprint

If you are not interested in shooting a video, please discuss this with Coach Whiteside.  He has the best insights into the value of the videos and how they are used.

The short summary is that a video will NOT get you a college roster spot.  BUT, it might encourage a coach to come watch you in person during the Summer and Fall.  These days, college coaches expect a video, and in many cases will not come see a player unless they see him on video first.

Thanks,

Mark Gallion
