We are proud of the hard work that our 14-17u players have put forth since the fitness testing back in November, 2011. This email provides a summary of recent testing results.
- 28 players achieved the goal of reducing their 40 time by at least 0.10 seconds
- 45 players achieved the goal of reducing their pro-agility times by at least 0.10 seconds
- 55 players improved throwing velocity by >3mph
- 37 players improved bat speed by >3 mph
- 55 players threw the medicine ball >2 feet further
- 33 players improved their bench press by >15 lbs
- 58 players improved their max squat by >30 lbs
The athletes with the top 5 overall test results in each age group were:
17u - Gibbs, McCoy, Mannion, DePoy, Draffen
16u - Smith, Tanner, Monti, Rouse, Callahan
15u - Mantle, Vierling, Hicks, Martinez, Frelich
14u - Cunningham, Stamper, Miller, Knernschield, South
Also, the players with the biggest overall improvement in each age group were:
17u - Fones, DePoy, McCoy, Sparks, Gibbs
16u - Tanner, Miller, Smith, Einertson, Rouse
15u - Schaefer, Brewer, Hicks, Mantle, Stuckenschneider
14u - Freeman, Fox, Stamper, South, Smith
Congratulations to these players.
Exceptional results of note are:
- Burnham (17), Canterbury(16) and Hemphill(16) put on 14 lbs.
- We had 24 players with below a 5.0 second 40 yard dash (from a basestealing start), with Martinez (15) leading the pack at 4.75 sec.
- Wardlaw(16) and Monti(16) both ran 3.93 sec. Pro Agility Drill, a program record
- We had 19 players throw >85mph, with 6 players >90 mph, with Gibbs (17) and McGill (17) at 93 mph.
- We had 13 players bench more that 200 lbs, including a program record 270lb by Depoy (17)
- McCoy (17) squated 450lbs, a program record. Monti (16) and Schrimpf (17) were at 400 lbs. 33 players squated more than 300lbs, including Fox (14) and Cunningham (14).
