17u Gamers,
As mentioned in the college process meetings, it is now time to shoot the recruiting videos for the 2012 Gamers.
The videos will be shot on the schedule below, then edited and posted on the Gamers Lockerdome site. The videos will be displayed in each player's locker on Lockerdome. The URL to your locker can be included in emails to college coaches. All they do is click on the URL link to watch your video and/or view your profile.
The videos will be approx. 3-5 minutes per player, based on the number of positions.
Here is the schedule:
Tuesday May 31st @ UMSL 12-2pm - Helbert, Bossi, Evans, Judd, Faron, Wilkes 2-4pm - Conrad, Dillon, Putnam, Forsee, Einertson, Blechle
Wednesday June 1 @ Chesterfield 8-11am - Spradlin, Skinner, Ward, Cooper, Fladda, Mueller, Klug
Wednesday June 1 @ UMSL 12-2pm - Ford, Kossina, Lund, Patterson, Buckman, Larson 2pm-4pm - Gilreath, Schaefer, Sullivan, Campbell, Snodgras
We will complete videos for Schatz and Picha when they come off the DL.
If there are any issues with these time slots, please let me know immediately.
The cost of the videos is $160. This includes shooting the videos, field rentals, editing time and the cost of posting the video on a private website (Lockerdome).
Please wear a blue game uniform (blue jersey/white pants) for the video. Please do not wear the white jersey because it creates a lighting challenge for the video.
The videos will include a combination of reps:
- At the plate - Groundballs @ SS position (footwork and throws) - Outfields (footwork and throws) - Catching - receiving, blocking, throwing - Pitching - Running a 60 yard sprint
If you are not interested in shooting a video, please discuss this with Coach Whiteside. He has the best insights into the value of the videos and how they are used.
The short summary is that a video will NOT get you a college roster spot. BUT, it might encourage a coach to come watch you in person during the Summer and Fall. These days, college coaches expect a video, and in many cases will not come see a player unless they see him on video first.
Thanks,
Mark Gallion
