During the offseason, over 120 Gamers (ages 14u-17u) went through fitness testing at Hammerbodies.

 

There are three objectives in our testing program:

  1. To emphasize the importance of training and athleticism in determining success at higher levels of baseball.
  2. To check to ensure our players are actively training and improving their test results
  3. To establish a baseline of performance for the top athletes in our program.

We are very happy with the results of the testing and the hard work that our players have put in during the offseason.  We are achieving our objectives. 

 

On average, the improvements were:

 

14u - gained 2 lbs, squated +31lbs, benched +14 lbs, Med Ball + 2.1 feet, Shuttle -0.17 sec and 40 -0.17 sec

 

15u - gained 11 lbs, squated +44 lbs, benched + 17lbs, Med ball +2.9 feet, Shuttle -.13 sec and 40 was flat.

 

16u - gained 8 lbs, squated +43 lbs, benched + 15 lbs, Med ball +4.9 feet, Shuttle -.14 sec, 40 -.01 sec

 

17u - gained 4 lbs, squated +27 lbs, benched -2 lbs, Med ball +2.3 feet, Shuttle -.06 sec, 40 was flat

There are some impressive individual stories in these numbers.  We are very proud of how many of our players are taking training and nutrition seriously.  This will make them better and better baseball players.  

 

27 players enrolled in the Hammerbodies Speed Training over the past 6 weeks.  Those players have reduced the 40 times by 0.11 seconds, compared to the average improvement of 0.03 seconds.  Focused training works.
