Is Developmental Screening at Risk?

As of January 1, 2012 CPT code 96110 has not been removed from the CPT code set.  The code was revised for 2012 to more accurately describe the service of "screening" and to also allow for the code to be reported more than once per date.

An inadvertent consequence of adding the word "screening" to the code descriptor prompted CMS to remove all relative value units (RVUs) for the code on the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.  This is no way effects the CPT code set and under HIPAA the code is still valid.

CMS created HCPCS code G0451 "developmental testing with interpretation and report" and crosswalked the value over from 96110.

The national AAP staff are working diligently to try and resolve this issue.

Who is eBenefits Group?

eBenefits is proud to be an approved health benefits provider for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  At eBenefits Group, it is our mission to make the complicated process of getting the best, most affordable coverage as easy as possible.  During this time of change within the Health Insurance industry, our mission is more important than ever before.    In addition, our unique partnership with Advanced Benefit Strategies, Inc. (ABS) gives you more ways to mitigate rising health care costs.  ABS has delivered hassle-free third party administration of pre-tax employee benefits since 1993.

What is eBenefit's role?

After over 25 years in the business, we take our role very seriously.  Yes, we are Insurance Brokers, but it is much more than that for us.   It is our responsibility to review your current plan with you as well as providing you with alternatives.  However, this is only where we begin.  At eBenefits, we work directly with you.  Not only do we meet with each client at renewal time, we offer a mid-year review as well.  At Ebenefits Group we take care of the little things too, such as enrolling new employees and handling terminations, including the administration of Cobra benefits.  We know it is of the utmost most importance to listen to our clients.  Together we can figure out which plan best suits your specific needs.  Meetings with our clients have now become more of a strategy session where we determine what type of plan will work best for you and your employees, as well as how it should be implemented.

Don't be Afraid of Change!

Change is inevitable and changes in insurance policies as well as State and Federal mandates are happening as we speak.  As we approach 2014 it is more important than ever to be sure that you are aware of and complying with the many changes that will occur due to Health Care Reform. We are certain that there will be change and eBenefits Group will be here to help you every step of the way.  Feel free to contact us and we will be happy to share all of the services we provide with you.
