Basher: 123
by Simon Basher
The numbers 1 to 20 have never been so creatively counted as in this companion to the critically acclaimed Basher: ABC Kids. Witty, rhythmic text and Basher's bold, appealing artwork highlight the gallery of unforgettable characters like two cheeky monkeys playing tennis, three messy piggies baking cakes, and five cool caterpillars who dance across the pages blowing bubbles. But there's learning that comes with all this fun-- each double-page spread features a number line from 1 to 20, which combines with the language to give children essential tools to learn how to count quickly and with confidence. Recommended for ages 3-6.

Secret Letters
By Leah Scheier
Review by Kimberly H. age 14
Dora is a teenage girl who is looking for an exciting life of detective work with Sherlock Holmes, who might be her biological father. When she discovers that he is dead, she is forced to solve her cousin's blackmail case with a boy she hardly knows. Secret Letters by Leah Scheier is a book full of adventure, mystery and romance. I thought it was a very fun read even though it got a bit confusing. The book has room for a sequel but it comes together in a satisfying ending. All together it was a good book, and if there is a next one I am ready to read it.
