From the Mayor's Desk...

October is historically a significant time in Palmetto Bay. It marks the beginning of our new Fiscal Year, and it's the time of year the Mayor formally presents the Annual State of the Village Address. This is my opportunity to review Village operations and provide an overview of our progress. I am looking forward to this event, because it is my first such address as your Mayor, and because I have good news to share about the positive direction of our Village. But rather than divulge my entire speech now, please come by the Palmetto Bay Village Center tomorrow night, (Wednesday, Oct. 19)  to celebrate our Village, to see good friends and neighbors, and to hear how we continue to "Set the Standard" for excellence. I am honored to serve as your mayor -- and I would be honored if you could join us.

Village Enhancing Government Transparency

Village Council

Palmetto Bay is further enhancing its reputation for easy access to government with two new features: live-streaming video of public meetings; and a web-based monthly check register. The Village launched the new video service from its Village website on Oct. 3 with live coverage of the October Regular Council Meeting. On-demand coverage of that meeting is also now available. Please note: only Regular Monthly Council Meetings will be streamed and archived. Also this month, for the first time ever, the Finance Department is offering an online check register of Village transactions for public viewing.
