Greetings!
Welcome to the second edition of Seniors On-the-Go, an exciting new e-news for the Village's more mature population. Topping the news this month is the enthusiastic response to the unique and creative classes we launched for seniors in January. It appears we have struck a cord with you, as most classes have been filled to capacity. Please read on for details regarding the various offerings this month -- keep in mind, reservations are strongly recommended. As always, feel free to contact the Parks & Recreation Department with any questions, concerns, and programming ideas, or call us at 305-259-1234.

Benefits of Massage Therapy
The Senior Seminar Series continues this month with "Benefits of Massage Therapy." This FREE class will be held on Feb. 22 at the Edward & Arlene Feller Community Room at the Palmetto Bay Branch Library at Ludovici Park (2nd floor), 10:30 - 11:30 am. Be our guest at Palmetto Bay's 8th Annual Celebration Picnic, a free event at Coral Reef Park, March 6 (11 - 2). Expect great food and fun activities for all ages -- including a Historic Preservation Bus Tour of Palmetto Bay. Contact Jian Santana for tour reservations or call 305-259-1260. 2010 Relay For Life

Volunteers, Teams Needed in Relay-For-Life
Walkers, cancer survivors, community leaders, team captains, and hard working volunteers -- especially seniors -- are all needed for the local Relay-For-Life. The event is held on behalf of the American Cancer Society and will be taking place March 13-14 at Miami Children's Hospital-Palmetto Bay Center. This unique annual fundraiser allows participants to join together in the fight against cancer. Volunteers are needed for various tasks. Read more... |
