Cat Mutilations Reported in the 'Bays'
Mayor Flinn tells residents to keep cats inside...

Investigators for both the Village of Palmetto Bay and the Town of Cutler Bay today reported that there has been a rash of cat mutilations and killings over the past week.

First reported in Cutler Bay, the official number of deceased cats there is 13. Palmetto Bay received its first cases on Friday, May 15, and now reports that a total of seven cats have been killed in a similar manner since Monday, May 11.

According to the Village Policing Unit, no arrests have been made as of yet, but work continues on every possible lead. These incidents all occurred in the south end of the Village of Palmetto Bay.

Detectives from Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay are working side-by-side to solve these crimes.

Mayor Eugene Flinn advises that residents should keep their cats inside their homes until it has been determined who or what has caused these deaths and there is no longer a threat to the feline population of the Village.
