Determination and destiny drive Kosovo refugee to become a doctor. Twice.
|
We love what we do each day and are passionate about the work we take on. It is precisely for this reason that we were so impressed with the story of Dr. Nora Gashi, originally of Prishtina, Kosovo, and now of Wayne, New Jersey.
Dr. Gashi became a doctor for the first time in her war-torn country, just as the civil war was taking a more and more deadly turn. With her two young children, she fled, first to Macedonia and then to the United States.
It took her 10 years of work and study to become an American doctor, now in the practice of Wayne-based High Mountain Health, one of our clients. We believed that her triumph of will could serve as an inspiration to others, so we brought her to the attention of The Record, which agreed to publish her story.
Written by Mike Kerwick, it appeared this past Sunday and is well worth the read. Click here.

Telemedicine. Is this what the doctor ordered?
|
Although telemedicine has been around for years, health reform and a convergence of factors assure its increasing role in the delivery of healthcare.
We will devote next month's newsletter to this topic and are interested in hearing from you with observations, predictions, hopes or fears. If these are based on direct knowledge or experience, we would appreciate any information you wish to share.
