Philoptochos is in full swing this Lent with projects and programs, prayer and fasting. In these difficult financial times, we must all the more gird ourselves with the strength of our mercilful and loving Lord so that we may be the instruments of His goodness and a beacon of His light to all in need.

 The Philoptochos Luncheon
The Clergy-Laity Philoptochos Luncheon
in Clearwater this June has selected
All Childrens Hospital in St. Petersburg as the recipient charity.
The Metropolis Philoptochos Board has voted to donate and underwrite a Consultation Room in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ( for newborn, preemies, multiple births etc) This room will be for prayer, consultation and quiet time and will be used by the doctors, the families and the nurses for meetings and consultation. The cost of the room is $15,000.-, but the hospital has agreed to let us pledge $10,000 with naming rights. Once our donation is fullfilled, His Eminence and representatives from Philoptochos will be present for the dedication and the placing of the plaque.
We are asking the chapters to donate $100 as the special gift contribution. This is the only donation towards the C/L Philoptochos Luncheon that will be solicited from the chapters.
Any individuals, who would also like to donate, can send their checks, payable to The Metropolis of Atlanta Philotochos, to treasurer: Mrs. Betty Lantz, 6880 Sunset Drive, Miami, FL 33143.

Clergy Education Fund Drive
We are blessed to have 12 young men from our Metropolis currently studying to offer and dedicate their life to serve as a priest of the Orthodox Church.
If you haven't already held your chapter's fund drive in February and submitted your support for our seminarians, please remember to do so in March. Working together we can make this ministry successful for the blessed future of our Church. |
