Happy New Year!
2012 starts with signups for children's preschool and afterschool programs from 9:30 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Email and phone registrations will be accepted after that time if there are openings (snow date will be Wednesday, Jan. 11). Programs begin in February.
We also want to remind you that our community read, The Hunger Games, culminates with a special event on Friday, the 13th.  Please call and register if you plan to attend.
The 1000 Book Club returns this month with all new books so parents with children from 3 to 6 years old should look for bookbags and the sign-up binder on Miss Susan's desk also beginning on Jan. 10.
For adults, Book Club will recommence monthly meetings on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. with a discussion of Jonathan Franzen's Freedom.
Happy Resolutions,

 Red Bookbags Return
Book Bag

We have received a new collection of children's books from the Marlboro Faculty Association to distribute within the district! These bags contain 10 brand new books available for self-checkout using the 3-ring binder on Miss Susan's desk. When finished, return them to the Main Desk and staff will check them in. The books are aimed for children ages 3 through 6. Upon reading 1000 books, a child becomes recognized as a "1000 Book Kid" honored by the MCSD Board of Education.
Friends of the Library Meeting ~ Jan 10 at 7 pm.

The Board and Staff would like to thank The Friends of the Marlboro Free Library for their gift to the Library of $1000 presented at our centennial celebration in December! Planning for 2012 will begin at the January meeting. Please join us. New members are always welcome! The Friends usually meet at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Library.
