Holiday Wreath Auction, Saturday, Nov. 28th
Some talented friends and neighbors will be donating their designs of hand-made holiday wreaths to benefit the Library which will be held at the Benmarl Winery this Saturday evening. Preview begins at 6 p.m. with the always ebullient Frank Pietrzak who will take up his gavel at 7 p.m. to begin the auction. His lively patter makes the auction an entertaining experience. Enjoy a glass of wine and go home with a conversation piece to brighten your holdiday while benefiting the Library at the same time. |
Thanksgiving Hours at the Library
The Library will close Thanksgiving eve, Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26. The Library will be open of Friday, Nov. 27 in case you want to avoid the crowds at the stores on Black Friday. The holiday wreath auction will occur on Saturday, Nov. 28 at the Benmarl Winery. |

Presents for Patients
We are a drop-off point for the Mental Health Association of Ulster County's "Presents for Patient" program that anonymously distributes holiday gifts to clients without families. Drop your donations in our collection box in the Library. Please DO NOT gift wrap new or hand-made items which may include but are not limited to: toiletries, knit hats, gloves, socks, sweatshirts, games, puzzles, chewing gum, stationery, postage stamps, or new clothes in large or extra large sizes (no used items or clothing).
Deadline - Friday, Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. Thank you! |

Text Reference
From your computer, or if you prefer texting to making calls on your cell phone, text your reference questions to the Library website (marlborolibrary.org) on the online "widget" Meebo. Unlike private companies such as KGB, there is no charge for this service. Just type in your question from your computer or handheld device and we'll do our best to answer your question ASAP. |

Book Club Meets, Wednesday, Dec. 2
Because our regular discussion time falls so close to Thanksgiving, we've moved our regular Wednesday meeting back one week to December 2. We will be discussing The Story of Edgar Sawtelle at 7 p.m. We don't meet in December but adults are welcome to join us on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2010 when we discuss The Given Day by Dennis Lehane. | |
