Career Resources
We're trying to meet the demands of job searchers the best that we can so we wanted to remind everyone that the Library has access to a number of resources. We have access to job searching websites (see Quick Answers on the right column of our Library webpage), you can choose a number of resume templates on the Gale Educational and Testing product (from the Ulster County Library Association Infoportal) and we just bought a bunch of resume creation, job searching, and civil service text books that will be on the shelves soon. For more information about career search tools, visit http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/libdev/outreach/careers.htm

Library staff are experimenting with an online "widget" Meebo that might help us provide you with answers to reference questions. Meebo is a simple real-time online chat tool. No subscription on your part is required. You sign in anonomously as a guest. Look for Meebo on the right hand side of the Library webpage. If you see it is active, you can just type in your question. Your participation will help us determine its value. Thanks!

Battle of the Books
We are looking for at least 6 volunteers in grades 5 through 8 to join the Marlboro Library team (we have 4, so far). Marlboro needs to form two teams of 5 players each. Team members commit to reading 10 books through the spring and summer in preparation for the event in September. We also need to come up with a name for the team. Bookmarks with the list of titles are available at the Library. Funds donated by the Friends of the Library will be used to purchase books, team t-shirts, food and prizes. Contact Mr. Cosgrove by phone or at director@marlborolibrary.org.
