Week 24 Analysis

My apologies for the delay from Week 23 to Week 24, and you're going to get weeks 24 through 26 in rather rapid succession now that I'm back from a short break and some exceptionally long days preparing for, and then catching up, from said break.

We saw a broad reversal of fortunes in Week 24 with Testing rates recovering 15 points back to a 72% lot pass rate but Inspection acceptance rates dropping back down 21 points to 65% when compared to Week 23 figures. Still, the improvement in Testing pass rates lead shipping volumes to a 200% recovery.

Hong Kong Holiday Announcement
Reunification Day

2011 Hong Kong SAR Establishment Day

White Horse's Hong Kong operation will be closed on Friday, July 1, in recognition of Hong Kong SAR Establishment Day, also called "Reunification Day".

In 1997, on the first of July, Great Britain's lease on Hong Kong came due and the island colony that had grown into one of the world's greatest business and trading hubs was handed back to the People's Republic of China.

There are a few urban legends about the event. My favorite is the British drum major, a Scotsman, who marched a few steps further and tossed his baton a few feet higher than planned in a show of bravado to stand nearly chin-to-chin with his Chinese counterpart and, just as he was handing over the ceremonial keys to the city stated "Don't [mess] it up."

Operations at our facility, and throughout Hong Kong, return to normal schedule on Saturday, July 2nd.

Greetings!

Since 2009, White Horse has been publishing Weekly Quality Reports. These reports contain lists of part numbers with high electrical failure rates that should be considered high risk. Within these reports, you can also spot trends for overall product quality in the market, industry volume trends, and you can drill into the manufacturers and part numbers to identify highest risk component categories and OCMs.

We are now providing you with access to historical reports through the archives available on our website. Note we do not list individual companies. We consider all test and inspection reports to be confidential to the requestor and White Horse is not authorized to disclose and distribute that information.
Notes:

1. Statistics are calculated as a percentage of all lots dispositioned within the given time period.

2. "Accept" is defined as customer acceptance of report device condition.

3. "Pass" is defined as meeting electrical parameters defined by the agreed upon test plan.

We hope you find this report informative and usefull for your organization.

All the best,
