"What Does Success Mean to You?" Iron Man race

Success, according to Webster's Dictionary, literally means "a favorable result!"  All too often we fail to put our "fitness success" in perspective, to make it more personal and achievable on a daily basis. Success doesn't have to mean losing huge amounts of weight, ripped washboard abdominals, doing the most reps with the most weights, having a perfectly sculpted body or winning an Iron Man. Success you see, is where you find it.

I have had clients lose 80 pounds, 100 pounds and even 150 pounds and don't get me wrong that is amazing & fantastic, but I get so excited when I hear things like; "I can't believe how easy it was shoveling snow," or "I didn't even get winded cutting the grass," or "I have no problem bending over to give the kids a bath any more." I love it when I get a text that says "I just fit into a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in years!" or "Guess what size I just tried on?" Success stories do come in all shapes and sizes and are truly about the small personal achievements and every day individual accomplishments! Read some of my favorite success stories here!

Even through we are constantly inundated with the newest product, drink, shake, pill or diet plan that guarantees over night success, it is important to remember that "fitness success" and achieving your favorable results takes hard work, dedication and determination. The benefits of exercise & healthy living are truly amazing and according to the Mayo Clinic here are their top 7; notice how they are small everyday changes that really lead to fitness success!

· Exercise improves your mood
· Exercise combats chronic diseases
· Exercise helps you manage your weight
· Exercise boosts your energy
· Exercise promotes better sleep
· Exercise improves your sex life
· Exercise can be fun

MM - Inner Thighs, Core
"Adductor Leg Lifts w/ tube or band"

"Lean, Toned Legs"

Your adductor or inner thigh muscles can be difficult to target. If you want lean, toned legs working these muscles are a must! This is a great alternative exercise to simply hopping on the adductor machine in the gym; by standing up and balancing on 1 foot you are isometrically working your stationary leg as well as your core and inner thighs! When using an exercise tube or band 438 - Adductor Leg Lift w/ tuberemember you control the tension; step away from the anchor point to make the exercise more challenging, step closer and it becomes easier. If you are new to exercise begin by holding on to a stable surface for added balance. Always check the video for proper form and technique - CLICK HERE for all the details!
