Scott & Megan Kelly Church Planter ChristChurch in Louisville
| It all started with an coffee-shop conversation between Scott Kelly, a Colorado Baptist church planter, and Jason, a medical marijuana patient who also publishes Cannabis Health News Magazine. And by the time it ended, the gospel of Jesus had advanced among medical marijuana patients and dispensary owners during an unusual gathering on Friday, March 18th.

A Cause for Celebration
| |
Chip Martin, pastor of Celebration Church in Montrose, had the privilege of baptizing 10 people on Sunday, March 27.
Chip, for some years now, has been burdened for his congregation to experience geniune discipleship. He admits that his efforts were probably in haste at the time, but is trully blessed to have had 10 people make decisions for Christ with the real desire to follow Him completely. Several months ago, Chip started challenging his folks to "count the cost" and be sure they understood salvation and what it meant to be a disciple. The first folks were Margaret, Betty Ann and David. When Chip met with them on February 10 about baptism, he had a sense there might be others wanting to make the same decision. He would simply pray and wait. Click Here to Read the Rest of the Story

Frontline Church Planting Center
| |
Senior Pastor dreamed of starting a church planting center and God swept a spirit of partnership all over the state to help make the vision a reality.
Many years ago Kelly Williams, Senior Pastor of Vanguard in Colorado Springs, dreamed of starting a church planting multiplication center to train future planters. As God has advanced that dream he has swept a spirit of partnership all over the state to help make this vision a reality. We know that church planting is ALWAYS hard, but how much more equipped could planters be to birth a healthy church if they were trained in an indigenous residency here in Colorado? We hear church planters dying for this, and it is now time to act. Click Here for More Information

A Message from the Baptist Foundation of Colorado
| |
The BFC has a very educated, motivated and dedicated Board of Directors involved in our communications with churches and associations, providing increased acceptance of the Foundation as a viable, helpful ministry.
BFC encourages our churches and associations to invest their "designated" and excess monies in Construction and Permanent Loan Investment Fund (CLIF and PLIF) instruments which currently earn more interest than commercially available money-market funds and CDs. This helps our ministries in this low interest rate environment. BFC currently has 33 entities with short-term instruments (CLIFs) earning our ministries 1.6-1.7%, and 13 entities with fixed-rate instruments (PLIFs) now earning 2.1-3.1% fixed for 1 or 3 year terms. We manage CLIFs totaling $764,000 and PLIFs totaling $41o,000, as of 02-28-2011. BFC retains a Long Term Investment Portfolio (LTIP) for 14 ministries, including its own equity, for a longer period, preferably 5 years or more. The LTIP is valued at $817,000, as of 02-28-2011. Total Managed Funds are $1.955 million.
