Annual Green Shorts Film Festival Now Open for Entries Win a MacBook
The Community Environmental Council in partnership with Traffic Solutions and Samy's Camera has opened the annual Green Shorts Film Festival for entries. The contest is part of the 2010 Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival organized by the Community Environmental Council.
The Green Shorts Film Festival is an annual online film festival about saving our planet, helping our environment and being green. The 2010 contest theme is "Bringing it Home" (also the theme of the Earth Day celebration). To participate, create and submit a compelling and entertaining two-minute film. Some topics to consider are sustainable living, eating and growing local food, sustainable transportation, energy independence and a green future without petroleum. This is a chance for concerned citizens to share the ways in which we can all reduce our consumption of fossil fuels, reduce traffic congestion, protect our environment and reduce our carbon footprint.
The top rated films are eligible to win prizes -- including a MacBook donated by Samy's Camera. A special Traffic Solutions award will be given to a movie that focuses on
sustainable transportation such as bicycling, walking,
carpooling, using transit, vanpooling or telecommuting. Winners will also be aired on Channel 17 and previewed at a special Screening Event and Awards Ceremony in mid-April. Submissions for the festival are due by Friday, March 26, 2010.
