Bike Map Update - Open House
Thursday, January 14, 5:30-7:00 PM
Traffic Solutions' Free Santa Barbara County Bike Map is used by thousands of bicycle commuters, residents and visitors each year, and now it's time for us to update and reprint the map. To take comments in person, we're hosting an open house on January 14 at Bikestation Santa Barbara. Stop by any time between 5:30-7:00 PM to give us feedback and suggest updates on the routes or other info on the map. Light refreshments will be provided.
In addition to taking your comments on the bike map, staff will be available to provide tours of the Bikestation as well as membership information. Bikestation Santa Barbara offers members secure bicycle parking, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility boasts 78 bicycle racks, a shower and unisex bathroom, lockers, tools, work stand, an air compressor and vending machine with bicycle accessories for purchase.

Carpool for Cash is a monthly raffle for people who get cars off of the road by carpooling to work or school.

Street Skills for Cyclists Class
January 21 and 23
Offered by the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition and Licensed
Cycling Instructors, Street Skills classes are for those who want to use
a bike for fitness, recreation, commuting, or for just getting around town, but want to feel comfortable and confident sharing roads with motor vehicles. In the class, you will learn
how to look at streets and intersections and know the best
place to ride depending on your speed, the street layout, and traffic conditions. The Street Skills classes will provide you with the knowledge and tools to ride safely and confidently.
Each class consists of two parts. A Thursday evening classroom session from 5:30-8:30 PM, followed
by a Saturday session 8:30 AM-3:30 PM. The sessions take place at Bikestation
