marked the 2010 Bike Events kick-off, with the announcement
of the winning bike month name Cycle MAYnia, submitted by
Jim Balter. Congratulations Jim!
 Over
100 people attend the kick-off party, brainstorming ideas
for 2010 bike events and learning how to host an event with
the help of a $50-$500 mini-grant from Traffic Solutions. From bike art and fashion to organized rides and youth
activities, the events for Cycle MAYnia will be a community-wide collaboration

miss WheelHouse's Functional Bike Art show on
December 3rd, starting at 5PM. This 1st Thursday event is free to the public and will feature bike art, beverages and an auction to benefit Cycle MAYnia, followed by a group ride. WheelHouse is located at 528 Anacapa St. in downtown Santa Barbara.

Newly improved VISTA
Coastal Express bus service
The Coastal Express recently expanded and
enhanced daily transit service between Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Primarily serving commuters and operating
since 2001, the Coastal Express recently added a fifth express morning trip to
Goleta, expanded service to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, and
substantially increased service for commuters between Ventura and Carpinteria. Not only are there more drops offs and pick ups in Carpinteria, but City Hall and the corporate office complex located at 6305
Carpinteria Ave. are now being served.
The Coastal Express now has 51 trips every
weekday between Oxnard, Ventura, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, and Goleta, as
