June 18th is the fourth annual National Dump the Pump Day. Join your fellow community members this Thursday and ride public transportation, walk, and bike to save money, protect the environment,
reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and improve our quality of life. As part of their participation in this national day, MTD will be showcasing their electric, biodiesel and hybrid buses. If you live in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, or Goleta, give MTD a call for trip planning advice at 963-3366. As we near the end of the Commuter Challenge, it is important that you and your team members take a moment to refresh yourselves of the rules and eligible trips. Ineligible Trips- Purely recreational bike
rides or trainings

Purely recreational/exercise walking

Dropping your own
kids off at school by car

Carpooling on
vacation

Carpooling
that is not eliminating a car trip, e.g. grocery shopping with your spouse

Logging a
"telecommute" that is not eliminating a car trip, e.g.
checking work email from home just to get a
point
Eligible Trips You May Have Forgotten-
It's not just for work - Get
points for personal trips when you eliminate a car trip

Vacation trips by bus, train,
