Moving on, Diving in new directions

During t
he last year, CaRPOC: wrote LOTS of letters; built a website filled with links, "how-to-do and umpteen references; and guided and supported local grassroots legislative efforts.
Brat& Laddie
We incorporated.  Now the name, CaRPOC has become known across the nation.  As the small group evolved, we recognized that our direction and goal were primarily to educate.

There a
re  many good organizations involved in anti-animal legislation education.  We wanted to create a new way to reach the general public, the public that only knows about PETA and HSUS through those groups' manipulation of the media.

In the NAKED Truth Calendar, CaRPOC included quotes from Animal Rights extremists to expose our adversaries' intentions using their own words. We included links so people could learn more.  It was a first step.

Daily updates on our website with local, statewide and national legislation reports, notices of upcoming events and easily accessible resource links moved the education further.  We added a kids' page and a library loaded with information.

This was very useful for those who were helping in the fight, but the next step, the new direction, was needed.  See below for the next step, the Speaker's Bureau, the Pet Education Teams (PETs).  CaRPOC is moving FORWARD,,,

Pet Education Teams (PETs)

CaRPOC board member Brat Zinsmaster will be the first to launch the PETs project at the Lions Club International, Cabinet Meeting of Board of Governors, Elk Grove, CA. "Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service organization with over 45,000 clubs and more than 1.3 million members in 202 countries around the world."  We hope that this initial presentation of PETs this month, will be huge step forward for the program.

PETs (Pet Education Teams) is comprised of informed, experienced and talented speakers who have been associated with animals for much of their lives. Each team will benefit from the practical experience of prior teams, have outlines, talking points and visual aids as the project progresses and grows.   New team members will accompany more experienced speakers to get a sense of the process. As new members grow more experienced, they'
ll guide the next volunteer, and so on as the team grows.

If there is an organization in your community that might be interested and that can benefit from an excellent program, please contact us. We can help interpret and make sense of it all,
just let us know
