Eighth Judicial District Assigns Discovery Commissioner Cases
 

The Eighth Judicial District Court recently released Administrative Order 12-06, which, in light of administrative orders 12-03 through 12-05, reassigns discovery commissioner matters filed on or after Monday, August 13. 

 

Discovery Commissioner Bonnie Bulla is assigned the discovery matters from departments 1-3, 5-7, 9-11, 13, 15, 16, 18-20, 22, 23, 25-30 and 32. Commissioner Chris Beecroft is assigned those from departments 4, 8, 12, 14, 17, 21, 24 and 31.

Voluntary Good Practices Offer Guidance to Combat Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing
 

The ABA Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and the Profession has worked with other entities to develop voluntary good practices offering guidance for lawyers in an effort to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. The task force has concerns about how mandatory gatekeeper provisions might affect confidential attorney-client relationships and other issues.

Judicial Opening in Ninth Judicial District Court, Department 1
   

The Commission on Judicial Selection is accepting applications for the position of judge in the Ninth Judicial District Court, Department 1. There is a vacancy due to the retirement of the Judge David Gamble.

 

Applications are available on the Supreme Court's website. Completed applications should be delivered to the commission secretary by Thursday, October 25, at 5 p.m. Applications will be accepted in hard copy format only.

 

The Commission on Judicial Selection has revised its rules to provide for a more open selection process. A complete copy of the rules can be found on the  commission's website.
