Story Telling Model

This program offers a fresh perspective that will help lawyers stop thinking like attorneys when presenting cases to the jury.

Attendees will learn to utilize an outline in order to create their opening in the form of a story, and to gain an understanding of the importance of communicating cases clearly to the jury.

The July Bar Exam is Over; Become Part of the Next Step for a New Attorney

This month, more than 300 men and women sat for the bar examination. Following admission to the bar, the next step for those who passed the test is Transitioning into Practice (TIP).

The State Bar of Nevada is continually recruiting experienced attorneys in good standing to serve as mentors in the TIP program. The TIP one-on-one relationship matches each mentor with a newly admitted attorney for a period of six months. During that time, these two people will get to know each other, interact with other members of the bench and bar, and share experiences and life-lessons along the way.

Mentors receive training and a curriculum, which can be modified to meet the specific needs of the mentor and mentee involved. Mentors earn three CLE credit hours for each TIP cycle in which they serve, and they may claim hour-for-hour service on their pro bono reporting forms.

Find out how to become a TIP mentor by visiting the State Bar of Nevada's website. Direct any questions about the program to tip@nvbar.org.
