Getting Bit Ethically and Professionally by the Interrelationship of Technology
Presented by the Business Law and Real Property Law Sections

We all travel on business and pleasure and, while on the road, we check our e-mails and respond to phone calls. Many lawyers blog, tweet, use Facebook and LinkedIn, and have nice websites, all in an effort to build a "brand" as a lawyer. But have the Nevada Rules of Professional Conduct kept up with what we all do every day in our practices?

Nationally-known speaker Mike Rubin takes attendees through a fast-paced series of issues and hypotheticals with the most unusual Power-Point presentation you've ever seen. You won't need caffeine to stay awake for this talk!

New ABA Litigation Leadership Program Seeks Diverse Applicants

The American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Litigation is launching a new program in the hopes of gaining more diverse future leaders. The Leadership Fellows Program's primary objective is to attract, retain and develop talented, diverse lawyers for leadership roles within the section.  It will also provide mentoring opportunities for lawyers in underrepresented groups, including racial and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals.

As many as ten participants will be selected to participate in the two-year program. They will be chosen on the basis of their leadership potential and demonstrated history of public service, professional excellence and national, state or local bar involvement.

Successful applicants will have been members of the ABA for at least one full bar year, and members of one of the underrepresented groups practicing litigation in a law firm, corporate entity or government agency. The applicant's practice must coincide with the work of a substantive committee of the section.

More information is available on the ABA's website. The application deadline is August 16, 2012.
