Looking for a reason to serve as a Transitioning into Practice (TIP) mentor?  We have at least ten. The State Bar of Nevada is recruiting attorneys to serve as mentors during the fall TIP cycle.

The Labor and Employment Section will be hosting its Annual Section Meeting on May 31, at the offices of Lionel Sawyer & Collins in Las Vegas, at 1700 Bank of America Plaza, 300 S. Fourth St. The event includes a short CLE seminar, officer elections and a social mixer. The CLE portion of the meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. The meeting and elections will follow at 5 p.m. The mixer will begin at 5:45 p.m. at the Triple 7 Brewery at Main Street Station. The section will provide appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.

Members in the north may attend the annual meeting and CLE via video conference at the Reno offices of Lionel Sawyer & Collins, located at 50 W. Liberty St. #1100.

The Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada focuses on current legal and procedural issues related to bankruptcy practice. The goal of the section is to keep its members informed about recent developments in case law and relevant changes to the Bankruptcy Code and Rules.

The Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law will present a lecture titled "Northern Ireland: The Path from Conflict to Peace," as part of its annual Peace in the Desert lecture series. Michael Collins, Ireland's Ambassador to the United States will be the speaker at this event. The lecture will take place on May 22, in the law school's Thomas & Mack Moot Court. Attendance is free and open to the public.
