Cruise Night in Boyertown
On Saturday, June 19, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Building a Better Boyertown (BBB) will be hosting Boyertown's 3rd Annual Cruise Night. BBB would like to welcome all Vehicle Enthusiasts (car or truck) to join us for our Cruise Night in downtown Boyertown.
All vehicle owners are invited to participate. For a minimal preregistration fee of $10.00 ($15 day of the event) car/truck owners can display their vehicle along Third-Fifth Streets of Reading Avenue in downtown Boyertown, starting at 4 p.m. until 8p.m. (rain date July 17)
Only Cruise Night Participants will be able to park on Reading Avenue. There will be several vendors and local businesses within walking distance that will be open to visit, or grab a bite to eat while enjoying music as we turn back the hands of time.
There's only one Cruise Night in downtown Boyertown, so come on down with your "done-up" classic, "rocked out" custom, or banged up beater. It doesn't matter if it's a Ford, Chevy, Dodge or foreign, all vehicles are welcome!
Don't have a car or truck to show off at our Cruise Night? Stop on by anyway and have a look at all the beautiful rides while you walk around and enjoy the food, friends and community togetherness.

Whether designing something as intricate as a home or as playful as a party, Scott Rothenberger's blueprint always includes one essential component: FUN.
After more than 17 years experience in the Architectural and Landscape Design industry, Rothenberger recently launched his own business, Scott Rothenberger's PLACE, A one-stop design firm offering Interior and Exterior Architectural Design, Landscape Design and Installation, Event and Holiday Decorating, and more.
PLACE services the Lehigh Valley as well as Philadelphia, New York City and beyond. "This business has been coming for a long time," he says. "With my background and education in architecture, combined with 12 plus years of landscape and garden design experience, years of holiday and event decorating from smaller weddings to larger than life themed gala's and a personality that loves to entertain, it all came together."
Rothenberger recently designed and implemented The Sandy Neiman Cancer Memorial Garden located in the Boyertown High School Football Stadium in memory and in honor of the lives touched by cancer. This spring the memorial garden will be a feature garden on the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society garden tour on May 16th. Information about this tour may be found on the PHS website www.pennsylvaniahorticulturalsociety.org

Introduction to Tree Biology
Thursday,
May 13, 7 - 9 p.m.
Dave
Tukey, Martha S. Miller Urban Forestry Intern, Morris
Arboretum
The more we know about tree biology, the better we
can care for trees including pruning, fertilizing, watering and protecting them
from damage. For each facet of tree biology such as hormones, defense
against decay, soil relationships and branch attachments, we will explore ways
to apply that knowledge to nurture both young and mature trees. This
information will be valuable for homeowners, gardeners, landscapers, tree
tenders, members of shade tree commissions, arborists, and anyone curious to
know more about how trees function.
This course carries 2 CEUs for ISA arborists.
Morris Arboretum Members: $25;
Non-members: $30
Soil Biology and its Effects on Tree
Management
Monday
May 109:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Dr.
Joseph Heckman, Professor of Soil Science, Rutgers University
Dr.
Jason Grabosky, Professor of Ecology, Evolution and Natural
Resources, Rutgers University
This course will address the nature and
composition of soils and how they impact the health and development of trees
and shrubs. We will examine the structural and chemical composition of
soil as well as our historical understanding of it. Most importantly we
will examine the "living" component of soil, from microbes and earthworms to
mycorrhiza and learn how the life below ground affects the growth of the trees
above. Students will receive a 48-page primer on soil biology as well as
a compendium of relevant articles as part of the class fee.
This course carries 6 CEUs for ISA arborists and 6
CEUs for Pennsylvania landscape architects.Fee: $140 (includes lunch)
