Building A Better Boyertown's Artist of the Month

Jennifer Baro
Jennifer
A native of Boyertown, and never far away, I am finally following my passion.

Signing up for "ceramics" at Boyertown High School was a life molding event.  Although I wasn't aware of it at the time, that experience would stay with me throughout my life until the time came for me to let it out.

Linda Rohrbach Austerberry was a wonderful teacher, encompassing life into her work.  After graduating from Boyertown and letting life take its course in the business world as a bookkeeper for many years, I decided to "retire" and take on the world of pottery.  I took a refresher course in Pottstown and was bit by the art bug yet again.

I now have my own studio and learn something new every day.  Through trials and triumph, I feel the surprise factor is one thing that fascinates me about the world of pottery.  It is also an art form that will stand the test of time.  The functionality of a particular piece is always interesting to achieve.  Never knowing if a handle is placed properly or if a spout will pour cleanly is always a challenge.

My home is surrounded by orchards and fields and my flower beds are overflowing with inspiration.  I pull these elements into my work at every opportunity.  Trees, fruit, dragonflies and flowers are a repeated theme on my pieces.

The support of the Arts in Boyertown is inspirational.  I have participated in juried shows at Studio B Gallery as well as The Premier Art Show sponsored by Build a Better Boyertown's Arts and Activities Alliance.  I am occasionally helping out at "Clayote Gallery and Studio" the newest addition to Boyertown's artistic community.  I also create melted bottle cheese trays which are featured in Patsy's Potpourri of Gifts and my pottery is on display at Frecon's Hard Bean Cafe.

I specialize in custom orders and welcome your ideas to beautify your home.  Choose a color scheme and the functionality or frivolity of your piece and I'll let my imagination run wild!

Studio BSign up for Winter/Early Spring classes at Studio B

Beginning February 1 and running for EIGHT weeks. (Six sessions seemed too short for a few of our classes, so we thought we'd add some additional sessions from the "get go."

Check out the attached schedule by visiting our web site www.studiobbb.org.
Call or e-mail Jane 610-367-8066, janeEstahl@comcast.com to register by phone or inquire about any last-minute changes to the schedule.

Writing: Our fall writing class--Share Your Story: Soul Biographies is being continued in the Winter/Early Spring session. This first offering in the literary arts was inspiring and fun. We enjoyed one another's company, learned a new trick or two, stretched our creative muscles, and met some personal writing goals.

Visual arts classes:  Our core program includes classes in Watercolor, Still Life Drawing, Oil Painting, and Sculpture along with classes in the popular contemporary styles--Manga, Anime, and Imaginative Drawing. Our staff includes some of our former teachers and some new talented and enthusiastic artists as teachers this season whom we're eager for you to meet.

New offerings! Pastel Portraits, Life Drawing, and Yoga are being offered this session.

Fight off the winter doldrums with us...Studio B is warm and cozy...you'll be glad you did!
