Registering for Events
A note about event registration through our new website:
We are now taking advantage of the registration portal provided by CFA Institute.  The new improved system includes attendance tracking, automatic application of CE credits, and an estimated savings for our society of more than $10,000 per year.

Using the system is simple.  Each individual registrant must have a CFA Institute website log-in name and password.  All that is required is first/last name and a valid email address.  Unfortunately, at this time the new system does not allow guest registration in the same way our previous application allowed.  Guests are welcome, but will need to have their own user name and password.  As host, you are welcome to create this account for them.  On-site registrations will be allowed as available, payable with cash or check.  No credit cards will be accepted onsite.

January 2010
Greetings!

Welcome to 2010!  For CFAMN, this New Year brings many exciting things, including a new office!  We have moved to 1300 Rand Tower to our very own space.  The new mailing address is updated on the website, and our phone numbers and email addresses have all stayed the same.  Thank you for your patience as we get all of the boxes unpacked and the technical glitches ironed out.

With all that CFA Minnesota has going on, this issue of CFA Connect will be very brief.  If you are interested in having your firm featured in an upcoming issue, I'd be glad to speak with you about the newsletter opportunities listed here, and am planning great content for upcoming issues!

2010 is the first year that our live study courses, in partnership with Stalla and the University of St. Thomas, will include Level 3 curriculm offerings.  If you know a candidate, or are one yourself, please see the information about these exceptional learning opportunities, which begin this month.

This New Year also brings us to our biggest event: Our Annual Economic Dinner.  We've been telling you about our special guest speaker, David Brooks, for several months now.  We are very pleased to announce a title for Mr. Brooks' presentation: "Is Washington Saving or Ruining the U.S. Economy?".  There are sponsorship opportunities still available, and we encourage you to book your firm table by contacting Maren Amdal  directly. This event promises to be an exciting informative evening.  Be sure to attend!

Sincerely,
Maren Amdal, Executive Director
CFA Society of Minnesota
