It's your LAST CHANCE to sign up for the Fall 2010 Afterschool Program! The 10-week program kicks off on Monday, October 4 and culminates in a gallery show of student work and holiday pop-up shop the weekend of December 17. We're excited to start creating fantastic works of art with students and to share them with the SA community!
Didn't get to sign up this fall? Good news! Every Friday this fall will be a free, drop-in afternoon from 3-6pm where SA students can enjoy their time creatively and collaborate on projects. So stop by and get involved on Fridays! Read more about the Program, or check our Schedule online here.

Marisa is a Do Gooder - VOTE ONLINE Oct 1-15
Brooklyn Community Foundation's Do Gooder Awards recognize the efforts of 5 outstanding, altruistic individuals working towards a stronger Brooklyn. We think that our Executive Director, Marisa Catalina Casey, definitely fits the bill!
Did you know that as a 16-year-old, Marisa designed a photography calendar that raised thousands of dollars to benefit international orphanages, including the orphanage in Bogota, Colombia that Marisa was adopted from at the age of 3? How about that she founded Starting Artists 10 years later at the age of only 26 in order to give teens the opportunity to be entrepreneurial, artistic, and altruistic the way that she was? Read more and vote for Marisa by visiting www.DoGoodRightHere.org! Voting continues until October 15 - spread the word!
