Winter Arts Intensive: Careers in the Creative Sector
 In this 3-day crash course, students ages 12-19 will learn from creative professionals and master hands-on techniques from arts educators to explore careers such as product design, graphic design, photography, & more!
As always, this Intensive includes lunch every day, open studio time, and access & guidance to all SA supplies, including digital cameras!
When: Tuesday, February 16 - Thursday, February 18 11am - 5pm

Brooklyn Indie Market comes to SA!
 This Valentine's Day, SA is teaming up with Brooklyn Indie Market and The {newnew} to host "A Valentine Fling: A day of fun, flirting and handmade shopping on Smith Street." Come to SA to browse through the wares of local designers and artists (including SA students!). SA students and volunteers will lead family-friendly arts activities while parents shop. Pick up a little something for that special someone in your life...or for yourself!

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
 This year, 11 Starting Artists students entered the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards! After a special Starting Artists week from January 4-8 where students and staff prepared their artworks, our students entered nearly 70 polished pieces into the competition, including digital photos, digital art, films, animations, and interior design.
SA students also created a stop-motion animation entry for the Human Rights Watch Film Festival student competition. You can view their work on our Student Gallery page. Fingers crossed for everyone!
