	THE MOTHER OF ALL INQUISITIONS & HOLOCAUSTS The 9th of Av Tuesday August 9th will be what's known by all Jews as the feared Tish'a B'Av, also known as the 9th of Av. This is a day to keep our heads low, very watchful, prayerful and a day of fasting. "But why," you ask. You see, for more than 3,000 years the 9th of Av has proven to be an infamous day against all Jewish people. (In the Jewish calendar, "Av" always falls in July or August-this year it's August.) In brief, the enemies of Israel and the Jewish people have conspired to torment and afflict Israel in very grave ways. Let me explain.



	The Temple of Solomon was destroyed by the Babylonians on this day. About 600 years later, the Temple that had been rebuilt during Nehemiah and Ezra's time was destroyed in 70 CE by the Roman legion. Some 1200 years later, on the 9th of Av, July 18, 1290, King Edward ordered the expulsion of all Jews out of England. About 200 years later, Spain expelled the Jews during the 9th of Av season in 1492. Historians say Columbus' entire crew and passengers were on board his fleet of ships but Columbus refused to sail because it was the 9th of Av. He sailed the following day. On the 9th of Av, August 1, 1914, (at the beginning of World War I) Russia launched horrific persecutions against the Jews. Russia has persisted in persecuting Jews ever since then.



	Tisha B'Av is marked by strict mourning practices, fasting, sitting on the ground or on a low stool, abstaining from work and business, reading only mournful portions of Scripture like Lamentations and Jeremiah. Some may ask, "But why should we be frightened of something that's happened in history long ago?" The issue isn't to be "frightened" but mindful because we know that history has a way of repeating itself. Over the AUSCHWITZ BIRKENAU Concentration Camps, I saw a large sign that read something like this: "IF YOU FORGET HISTORY-IT'S BOUND TO REPEAT ITSELF." Today, our nation is at a brink of a huge financial collapse. Some have said we're at the eve of another great depression. Meanwhile, many are purchasing gold bars because our dollar will be worth nothing. One example of this is the University of Texas at Austin which recently purchased ONE BILLION DOLLARS IN GOLD BARS. Isn't it time we all do a little fasting and a lot of praying for our nation, its leaders and our own families? I think it would be wise to pray the very prayer God gave King Solomon after the building of the Temple in Jerusalem.



	With this prayer I close: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) *God help us-God help America!* Dell F. 	La Madre de toda Inquisición y Holocausto El 9 de Av El día 9 de agosto será lo que es conocido por todo Judío como el temido Tisha B-Av, también conocido como el 9 de Av. Este es un día para guardarnos humilde, muy cautelosos, en oración y ayuno. Déjeme explicarle porque. Ve usted, por más de 3,000 años, el 9 de Av ha probado ser un día infamado contra todos los Judios. (En el calendario Judío, ¨Av¨ siempre cae en el mes de julio o agosto. Este ano cae en agosto. En breve, los enemigos de Israel y el pueblo Judío han conspirado a atormentar y afligir a Israel en maneras muy gravosos. Déjeme explicar.



	El Templo de Salomón fue destruido por los babilonios en este mismo día. Como 600 años más tarde, el Templo reconstruido durante Nehemías y Esdras fue destruido en el año 70 EC por la Legión Romana. Como 1,200 años después, en el 9 de Av, julio 18, 1290, el Rey Eduardo ordeno la expulsión de todo Judío de Inglaterra. Como 200 años después, España expulso a todo Judío durante el 9 de Av en 1492. Historiadores nos dicen que el equipo y pasajeros en las naves de Cristóbal Colon ya estaban listos para navegar pero Colon decidió no hacerlo porque era el Día 9 de Av. El día después navegó hacia el Nuevo Mundo. En el 9 de Av, agosto 1, 1914 (al principio de la Guerra Mundial I), Rusia lanzo una persecución horrífica contra los Judios. Desde entonces, Rusia ha perseguido a los Judios.



	El Día 9 de Av es marcada por prácticas estrictas de llanto, de ayunos, oración, y sentándose en el piso o sillas bajas mientras leen Escrituras como el Libro de Jeremías y Lamentaciones. Algunos preguntan porque debemos estar atemorizados por algo que aconteció en la historia tan pasada. El punto cardinal no es de estar atemorizado sino consientes porque la historia tiene manera de repetirse. Sobre el Centro de Concentración AUSCHWITZ BIRKENAU note un letrero grande que decía algo así: SI OLVIDAS LA HISTORIA-DE CIERTO SE REPITIRA. Hoy, nuestro país está al borde de una bancarrota financiera. Algunos han dicho que estamos en la víspera de otra Gran Depresión. Mediante tiempo, muchos están comprando barras de oro porque el dólar no valdrá nada. Un ejemplo de esto es la Universidad de Texas en Austin que compro un billón de dólares en barras de oro. ¿No cree usted que es tiempo que todos empecemos a ayunar y orar por nuestra nación y por los líderes y nuestras propias familias? Yo creo que sería muy sabio orar la misma oración que Dios le dio al Rey Salomón después de la construcción del Primer Templo en Jerusalén.
