Sephardic Anusim Center of the Americas

"The exiles from Jerusalem who are in
Sepharad will possess the towns of the Negev."

History Making History
After laboring feverishly for 12 straight days with Israeli
Customs and cargo officials we finally succeeded
in setting up the Historical Exhibit of Sephardic
Anusim in our center in the Negev. Doing this was
extremely complicated because all our Israeli
counterparts were out vacationing during the High
Holy Days.
By the time we set the exhibit up, we were so tired and
weary with the fact that most international tourists had
left Israel and would never get to see it until next year,
perhaps. So when we got a phone call from two
families traveling south to Elat that wanted to see our
exhibit, we sped to our site in order to show it off to
our very first visitors.
However, we had one little problem, the building was
locked shut while management and staff were
enjoying the last dregs of their holidays. Thanks to a
dear friend and colleague, Erez Yardini, (left photo)
because he heard my hearts cry and also sped to
our site to open the building since he's in top
management and has the keys to virtually everything.
A nice van pulled up with a young family that recently
made aliyah and is living in Jerusalem and the other
couple are the gentleman's parents from Oregon.
( left photo) They are all observant Jews. Thank
God
because just a couple of days ago I received word
from a dear rabbi in Oregon telling me that he
received
a "glowing report" of their visit to our exhibit.
In the meantime, thanks to Erez again because he's
showing off our exhibit to everyone that's interested,
including members of the Israeli media. Our next short term goal is to set up a temporary
(mobile) home within five kilometers for the manager
(s) that'll be taking care of our project. Meantime,
we've got other surprises that will catapult us forward
but I'll wait until I have more details before I share
them with you.
As my title states, "History Making History," I
can sincerely say that we made history in a very literal
sense for a few good reasons.
First, we made history because Israel has never had a
center that's one hundred percent devoted to
Sephardic Anusim who are the descendants of
holocaust/Inquisition survivors of Spain, Portugal,
Mexico and other Latin American Countries. Secondly, we made history because we've
taken "possession" of the heartland Obadiah
prophesied would be inhabited by our people.
(Obadiah 20b) And thirdly, history was made with history because
we've finally set in place a visual portrayal of our
people's story which began with King Solomon and
reaches across three millennia to this very date. Not
only does it reach our people in this Western
Hemisphere but it focuses on our forefathers who
entered northern Mexico and settled in America's
Southwest.
Needless to say, we're thrilled to get back home in
time for Hanukkah and the holidays. But quite frankly,
we're needed in the Negev and our heart's there as
well. Maybe you'll join us next time and visit the "new
home" of Sephardic Anusim in our prophetic land of
inheritance.
Meanwhile, please ask God what your role might be in
helping us establish a temporary home for the
managers of our center and exhibit in the Negev. We
have already taken steps to acquire the land and set
this home near our center. It's so near you can ride a
bike to work. Who knows, maybe you'd like to buy the
bike for the person that'll take care of our exhibit. So
please pray and let me know if you'd like to be
included in this historical adventure of our lives. (Please see more photos of our historical exhibit
below.)
Don't forget that one way you can help us with our
mission is by purchasing books and educational
resources such as DVDs. They make great gifts for all
the holidays! So please visit us at

Shalom and rich blessings to you, Dell & Helen
