"The exiles from Jerusalem who are in
Sepharad will possess the towns of the Negev."
(Obadiah 20)
Most Crucial Journey Ever!
For the last twelve years, Helen and I have traveled to
Israel at least twice a year. What a joy ! What a
privilege!
At first, our focus was on investigation. We needed to
make extra sure we were on the right track as far as
our people's Sephardic Jewish roots are concerned.
As you know our people have been known as
Crypto
Jews, Marranos and Anusim. Sure enough we've
been successful in proving what we wanted to
objectively find out. Then our mission to Israel became finding what
Israelis would like to lend us a hand in opening up a
major aliyah door for our people to become full Israeli
citizens. Sure enough, we've accomplished this as
well. We now have a "perfect model" that works. Meantime, we knew we needed a breakthrough in
finding who'd help us build a community for our
people in the Negev. Again, we've found the exact area
that's wide open to begin establishing our community
in the Negev. We've been graced with the Israeli
leaders that'll help us to make it happen.
A Knesset member who has befriended us declared
to us last December, "You need a campaign to
educate our (Israeli) people of who your people are. . .
and I will help you." Another extremely
important Israeli
leader told that same group, "When I met Dell and
Helen Sanchez and heard their story, I became a
soldier of their cause," and he sure has!
In just a few days, on the 30th of this month
(September) Helen and I are flying to Israel to formally
kick off our campaign. This will take place on October
13th with the GRAND OPENING of our (one-of-a-kind)
HISTORICAL EXHIBIT OF SEPHARDIC ANUSIM. Of
course, I'm referring to my people. As you can see I have included the front and back
parts of the Program we'll be handing out at this grand
opening. I'm sure you'll agree with me, it's attractive.
What's more attractive is the very fact that this event is
even taking place -- let alone with such dignitaries and
special leaders from Israel and other parts of the
world.
I beseech you to please pray for us as we set our
faces like a flint towards Israel and her Negev. I
beseech you to please pray about lending us a little
hand with the enormous expenses incurred in order to
pull off this wondrous event. I ask you to please go to
God to see if, in the midst of our perilous economic
woes, He might not put in your heart the desire and
the ability to help us one more time with all these
expenses.
Before I say Shalom and Hasta Luego, ("until
later"), please allow me to update you a bit about our
financial status regarding the grand opening to our
exhibit. We rejoice and bless God because almost all
our expenses have been met. We have already sent
the exhibit via UPS/air. We have the necessary money
to send and bless the couple that has donated the
exhibit and will set it up as it should in our new facility
in the Negev. The lease for the facility is paid for one
whole year already. We've purchased a good number
of large tables for exhibit objects. We've printed
posters, flyers and handouts such as the one you see
in this newsletter; and they're already paid for. However, and I say this with a big grin, the
expenses for Helen and me to be at our own grand
opening aren't in yet. What I mean is that everything
else is financially covered except our own travel
expenses. Isn't this funny? I say funny because God is
full or surprises, isn't He? I'm not sure who the joke's
on? Ha. But we know deep within our hearts that Abba-
Father is going to see us through. God knows we
have put the exhibit and others ahead of
ourselves. Now I ask you to please ask the Lord if
you're to send us a little relief so I won't have to sweat
it out too much. (For your convenience you can send donations by
paypal on our webpage at
www.4sephardim.com).
And while you're praying about it, please pray that God
will grant us the PERFECT PERSON that'll help
volunteer his/her time to oversee the exhibit.
Overseeing the exhibit isn't the challenge! The
challenge is being far away from home, housing,
transportation, language, money, visas, and so forth.
I'm not scarred of this challenge but I am considering
wisely how to proceed; and not to proceed out of doubt
or fear.
One more thing: let me remind you that one way you
can help us out is by visiting our website and ordering
any of the teaching-learning materials such as books,
videos or DVDs. Our web address is: www.4sephardim.
com. I'll be sure to take tons of pictures and hopefully a
professional cameraman will video-tape the whole
thing. I'll send you a report after we return early
November. Shalom, Hasta Luego and Hag Sameah!
