|
On this 60th Anniversary of Israel, I'm writing this
newsletter from a hill overlooking the City of the Great
King -- Jerusalem. I wish to give you a bird's eye view
of what we have experienced, thus far, in the Negev
and in Jerusalem. All this comes in anticipation of two
things: the grand opening of our historical exhibit
of Sephardic Anusim in the Negev; and, the latest
news regarding the aliyah of our people.
I must start with the fact that we have now officially
leased the property where our historical exhibit will be
housed in the heart of the Negev. This begins at
our grand opening on the eve of the Feast of
Tabernacles on October 13th. This day also happens
to be Columbus Day whom I contend was a
Sephardic "converso." And we'd love to have you
join us at this memorable occasion.
Our grand opening will be honored with Israeli
governmental officials at the national, regional and
local levels. We will also have colleagues in the
academic, business and scientific community by our
side. We shall have Jewish Israeli friends as well as
American Jews and a rabbi or two from America.
Along with this entourage we will be joined by a
delegation of Anusim and Evangelical Zionists
coming all the way from America. We expect to have
pilgrims from around the world who come to celebrate
the Feast of Tabernacles.
We'll have a ribbon-cutting ceremony, special
presentations, Israeli music performed by Israelis,
food (we hope, depending on our budget), and
a grand tour of our exhibit.
One member of the Knesset, declared to me, Dell,
you are doing a very good thing and I want to help
you. He is committed to be with us at our grand
opening as well.
A Christian book store manager in the Old City told
me, What you are doing is making history. A
Jewish journalist exclaimed, I want to be there-
count on me.
On the other hand, while it appears that the aliyah
of Sephardic Anusim is taking forever, it's a miracle
that it's taking place at all, particularly in these tough
times.

I'm reminded of the Scriptures in Ezekiel where he
speaks about the vision when God led him into a river.
(Ezekiel 47) First, he led him up to his ankles then to
his waist, and then to the point where his feet could no
longer touch bottom.
I'm reminded how God led Israel through the desert
"by stages." (Numbers 33:2) They didn't take
a straight line from Egypt into Canaan Land. God led
them through pathways of impossibility in order to
flush out all vestiges of the defeated slave spirit. This
was done to prepare them to take the Promised Land
by force, as freed men and no longer in the 'victim
spirit.'
After they crossed the Jordan River, they became real
champions over enemies much greater than they. But
all this had to be done in stages for it to last all the
way down to our own generation.
In like manner, God is leading us through the deserts
in life. He is taking us full circle until we're promoted
to "repossess" the land which our forefathers forfeited
over two thousand years ago. This land is "OUR
NEGEV" according to Obadiah 20b.
True - thus far we only have two Anusim families
approved to make aliyah. In fact, one family is
already in Israel, the other is bringing his family in two
months. But as a fellow Anusim declared to me,
Dell, the multitudes are lined up behind you.
Interestingly, Helen and I are still anticipating the
approval of our own aliyah.
However, what matters most is not our aliyah but
the aliyah of a "great and exceeding army" made up of
Anusim. (Ezekiel 37:10) We're only "the voice of
one crying out, in the desert prepare the way for the
Lord." (Isaiah 40:3) Yes, you read it right. We're
only "the voice of one." There are many other voices
among our people that range from North America all
the way down to Latin America. In fact, they're
emerging in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Spain and Portugal.
We're now at the interface between an 'old ending'
and a totally 'new beginning.' We're just days from the
Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) and the
holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur (the Day of
Atonement).
On top of this, we're at the ending of a year known as
new beginnings with the number '08 ("8" being the
number of new beginnings). It's been a mysterious an
eventful year but also filled with prophetic fulfillments.
Significantly, it's been this '08 year which God has
chosen to open up the aliyah gateway for Anusim
Hispanic/Latinos to become legal citizens and
repossess our inherited land as well as our real
identity and heritage.
Helen and I are at literally at awe as we're meeting
and hearing of Anusim all across the Americas and
the Caribbean. I can't begin to tell you how the
whirlwind of our people's awakening can now be
seen (AND FELT) in the desert places where our
forefathers hid from the holocausts of the Inquisitions
in Iberia and throughout much of our New World.
I dare say, it's a blessed day for my people. We've
been waiting for this for five hundred years; but it's
also a scary time to be alive, for many reasons. Truly
we must become separated and live a holy life like
never before!

PART TWO
So what am I saying?
There's no question
that it's time to wake up to the fact that as fuel
prices continue to increase, our American Dollar
continues to decrease. As American families
continue to lose their homes and groceries are
skyrocketing, there are now rumors that America or
Israel might attack Iran soon. With all this and much
more, it's time to get real serious about our future. It's
time to realize that history is being made in
more ways than one and that bible prophecies are
being fulfilled all around us. Let's not lose any more
time! Let's cast off the "American Dream" which
has been a big let down.
Let's get out of our perennial comfort zones. Let's
wake up to the fact that "the Church" is not Israel
- but, ISRAEL IS STILL ISRAEL! This is true in
bible prophecy as well as today, tomorrow and
through the millennium to come. Let' realize that "the
Church" has a definitive role to play in blessing and
helping Israel in these times of such turmoil and to
take God's side in terms of Israel's future.
In order for this to happen, God's remnant needs
to take their post now. The Church needs to stand
up and help all Jews, (Anusim included) to get back to
their forefather's homeland.
I contend that the last exodus has now begun. This is
the ingathering of Sephardic Anusim Jews that were
thought to be annihilated or fully assimilated into the
mainstream of our host gentile society to the point of
permanent historical amnesia.
Please allow me make a very bold statement with
a gentle spirit. Before we can expect Sephardic
Anusim to wake up from a 500 year slumber and to
ascend and return to Israel, they'll need to be the first
to say, Send me. (Isaiah 6:8) They'll need to be
among the first that'll declare as in Nehemiah's day,
Let us arise and build.
I can not speak for all my Anusim extended family but I
can speak for Helen and myself. We are living out this
golden ultimatum which Esther uttered: "If I
perish, I perish."
Now, what do you propose to do? What will
your stance be? If you're Anusim, you need to be the
first to say, Count me in. If you're an
Evangelical who loves Israel and prays for the aliyah
of millions of Jews in Diaspora, you too need to pray
and also help in some practical ways. If you belong to
a "replacement theology" church that thinks God has
divorced Israel to marry "the Church" get out while you
can. Don't even think twice nor try to change the
mindset of those that are staunch in this heresy. If you
lose friends for this, be it so. What else is new?
You've lost friends for mundane reasons, why not for a
matter that can make the difference in your destiny as
well as millions of others in these end-times remnant.
Think about it. . .pray about it. . .get angry if you
must. . .deal with it and move on. . .but do make a
decision. I exhort you to "Arise and shine for
the glory of the Lord has risen. . ." and TIME IS
RUNNING OUT!
Finally, I encourage you to stand with us as we not
only wake up and point the way for our people but also
for a massive multitude of biblical Zionists who love
God, who love Israel and the holiness of aliyah. I
encourage you to take action. How? By praying, by
spreading the word of what's happening in these
matters and help us out with any amount God places
in your heart to help us with - be it on a monthly basis
or a one time gift.
Maybe you desire to do better than this. Maybe you
want to send a substantial gift for us to cover
expenses in transporting and establishing our exhibit
in the Negev. Maybe you would like to earmark your
donation for office furniture or for our ever increasing
travels to locations where Anusim is crying for help but
can't afford to fetch us.
Maybe you would like to earmark your donation to
helping Anusim Jews with the massive amount of
paperwork entailed in applying for aliyah. In practical
terms, this would be around $500 per person.
As I stated in the heading, history is in the making and
prophecies are being fulfilled. So while
material 'things' are beginning to look dull and faint,
sow into things of eternal value and souls that'll make
a difference!
