Our History Finally Told!
--It's one thing to not know our history-it's another
thing to believe an erroneous one!--
The more I dig into the history of my people (who I call
Sephardic Anusim--descendants of Spanish Jews),
the more I discover secrets and deceit deep within it. It
has been said that 'history is always written by the
champions.' I believe both sides of any battle write
their history but that which shouts loudest and most
often is thought of to be the truth. Champions always
seem to have a louder voice in society.
I've also discovered that there are at least two sides to
every story, and this includes history. One such
example is the true story of the Battle of the Alamo.
America has one side of the story and Mexico has the
other. Don't get me wrong, I'm a true-blue patriot. I'm a
Texan (Tejano) a native San Antonian. And our
Sephardic forefathers were in Texas way before it was
called Texas or New Mexico and so forth.
Our Sephardic Anusim EXHIBIT stands tall in
terms of what's the 'real truth.' What I love about it
the most is that it's like our American heritage: for
the
people, by the people. In other words, Sephardic
Anusim are the principal ones that have collaborated
with Jodi and Richard Keehn in putting together this
amazing story in "living color" for everyone to enjoy and
appreciate. By the way, Jodi found out a few years ago
that she, too, is of Sephardic ancestry.
I've gone on the record that there are approximately 56
to 82 million Sephardic Anusim Jews in the Americas,
not counting all the islands of the Caribbean. The
Southwest of the U.S.A. has the highest number of
them together with those that are descendants of
northeastern Mexico. What I'm referring to here is that
this sleeping giant is waking up from a 500-
year slumber relative to our true story.
Never in my life have I seen how God can use
HISTORY to enlighten and restore the souls of those
that have endured persecution all their lives. The
beautiful thing is that this awakening is not only
setting the historical record straight but also 'leveling
the playing field' in the market place. What I mean
by "playing field" is in terms of our mental and
emotional state and how we think of ourselves as a
people.
Frankly, it makes me feel so proud of "mi
gente" (my people) when I see how they're being
restored the dignity which reinforces a healthy sense
of self-esteem. Meanwhile, I'm discovering that there
are a whole lot of folks out there with some Sephardic
Hispanic/Latino in their family tree. Our DNA project
proves there are incredible admixtures due to
marriage in our history that makes a lot of us akin to
one another. More interesting is the fact that there are
a whole lot of Hispanic/Latinos with Sephardic as well
as Ashkenazic bloodlines. In some instances, we can
even find Levite and Cohanim bloodlines straight from
Aaron, the first High Priest, and older brother of
Moses. All this to say that it is my honor to serve this
people-group. I pray you feel a little bit the same way I
do.

Sephardic Anusim heritage, may I kindly ask for a
hand as we prepare to ship our one-of-its-kind
EXHIBIT to its new home in the Negev of Israel?
