"The exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the towns of the Negev." (Obadiah 20)

Crypto Jew Symposium and Mexican Inquisition Exhibit at Texas A&M University
Last Thursday and Friday marked the grand opening of an amazing exhibit at the Texas A&M University at College Station. Dr. Gregory Lee Cuellar, the curator for the Hispanic resources at the Cushing Memorial Library and Archives, has done a most superb job in putting together a one-of-a-kind exhibit on the Mexican Inquisition. I was mesmerized by the quality and authenticity of this exhibit. Truly, Texas A&M University is fast becoming the leading institution of higher learning in the arena of Crypto Jews and Sephardic Anusim among Hispanic/Latinos in the U.S.A.

As if this wasn't enough, Dr. Cuellar and a select group of scholars put together the University's first symposium on Crypto Jews, known as Sephardic Anusim in many circles. The genius of this symposium was how we tracked the life and times of Don Luis de Carvajal from Spain and Portugal to Mexico and even into Texas. Don Luis was a Sephardic "Converso" and is the main character in two of my books (The Last Exodus and Aliyah-The Exodus Continues). As the anchor speaker, I had the privilege of linking Anusim's history to our future and destiny. I spoke of recent breakthroughs in the legal as well as practical affairs pertaining to the building of a community for Anusim in "our Negev." (We hope to begin this community before this year's over.)

Sephardic Anusim Exhibit in our Negev offices
Anusim Negev Office It's significant that I had this wonderful opportunity to experience the Mexican Inquisition's exhibit at Texas A&M because we're now ready to send our own Sephardic Anusim Exhibit to our new offices in the Negev.

This exhibit will arrive on time for this year's Sukkoth (The Feast of Tabernacles). We shall have the exhibit organized for pilgrims from around the world to experience Anusim's true history and present day reality. We'll have around 41 stations and hundreds of objects representing different eras in the life of Anusim beginning with King Solomon, continuing on to Sepharad which is Spain, and from there to the New World. It'll reveal the good, the bad and the ugly of Sephardim's plight during the Spanish Inquisition and their expulsion from Spain in 1492 and from Portugal in 1497. It doesn't stop there because the exhibit will expose secrets of the Mexican Inquisition which lasted around 300 years before it ended in 1821-1822.

I have seen a few exhibits that represent my people, the Anusim, but never have I seen such a comprehensive portrayal of our people's history as this one. Truly, Jodi and Richard Keehn have been anointed for this memorable work.

Will You Help?
I am not a 'good fund raiser,' however; this is a project I'm totally sold on. In a recent journey to Colorado, I helped raise around $2,000 to ship this exhibit to the Negev on time for Sukkoth. Helen and I were the first to sow one hundred dollars into this project. We were also the first organization to donate $1,000 towards this worthy cause. Now I'd like to challenge you to join with us in transporting this exhibit across the Atlantic to our new home in the Negev. We need $12,000 in order to meet our goal of $15,000.

I give you my word that each one of you that donates towards this mission will be remembered in the hall of our exhibit with your name or the name of your organization on a special plaque for all visitors to see and also to join you in this act--not of charity but of partnership in this pioneering quest to settle our people in the land of our inheritance, the Negev.

Please go to our website and use the credit card of your preference as we have access to the PAYPAL system. Our website is:
www.4sephardim.com. Or you can send your check or money order to: Aliyah Sephardic Center - PO Box 75- Helotes, Texas 78023. We can also accommodate bank wires directly to our bank; if so, call 210.326.6570 for instructions.

Please take action today because we're pressed to get the entire exhibit to the Negev on time for Sukkoth this October. It takes around two months to ship, not counting the handling and packing. So please take action now.

A Final Word - Our Schedule
Our schedule has never looked this exciting and demanding as it does now. We'll be in southern Colorado this weekend. After this we'll be deep in Mexico mentoring a Mexican family on their upcoming aliyah this summer. We'll also conduct numerous seminars while in Mexico. Then we'll return to the Denver area for conferences and seminars. Our summer schedule is almost packed for now with visits to the East Coast and possibly to Mississippi and Florida. So please pray about lending us a hand with your gifts and donations to help us out with this work God has placed before us. Meantime, we need to get ourselves back to the Negev in order to prepare the way for our exhibit's delivery! We do not look to number or dollars for us to do what we do- we do it sincerely out of a calling and our passion.

An excited shalom!

Dell

PS, Have a wonderful Passover season! - Pesaj Sameah!

PSS, If you know of any person or group that's planning to be in Israel during Sukkoth (Feast of Tabernacles) in October, please point us to them. We're in the process of having the GRAND OPENING of our office as well as our exhibit during Sukkoth. (Sukkoth begins on the eve of Monday Oct. 13th and ends around the 22nd with Simchat Torah.) We'll also have a very special seminar on the history and prophetic future of Sephardic Anusim in the Negev during this feast. Feel free to point these individuals to our website and to connect with us:
