When
Judianne Jaffe discovered a lump in her breast, she turned to her

Judianne's treatment, she became very knowledgeable about breast cancer, and

Event Spotlight 25th Annual Odyssey Ball
Hosted by the
John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary, the Odyssey Ball is one of the
Institute's oldest and most beloved traditions. This year's soirée will
be held at the elegant Beverly Hilton Hotel and includes dinner,
dancing, performances and an award presentation. The honoree for the
2010 Special Service Award, "The Duke" is the Insitute's own Lois Rosen. She is sure to be in good
company as previous award winners include Donna and Harvey Rosen, Joyce Green, Larry King and

Mark Faries, M.D., was quoted in MD Consult in an article about three clinical factors that identified thin
melanomas likely to harbor occult nodal metastases saying, "Such information could be used to reassure
extremely low-risk patients who may be anxious about the possibility of
metastases or convince patients at higher risk of the need to consider sentinel
node biopsy."
